The Prophecy (1995)

Angels come to Earth to find a human soul that can end the war in heaven. Humans are caught up in this battle and must find a way to stop the angel Gabriel before he takes the soul back from where the angel Simon has hidden it.
“Some people lose their faith because Heaven shows them too little,” says Thomas Daggett. “But how many people lose their faith because Heaven showed them too much?” Daggett nearly became a priest; now he’s a cop. He may want to put religion behind him, but one morning a weird, eyeless, hermaphroditic corpse turns up. Suddenly he is on a path that will put him right in the middle of a war in Heaven. And once again, Heaven will show him too much: gore, blood, charred flesh, living corpses and much worse. Even more central to the heavenly war effort is a young girl.
This American Indian child has something Gabriel wants. And Gabriel is willing to kill her and anyone in his path – or even reanimate a corpse or two – to get it

The Prophecy II (1998)

Gabriel returns to Earth to prevent the birth of a child conceived by one of his kind (the Angel Daniel) and one of God’s “monkeys” (a human woman – Valerie). The coming of this child has been prophecised by a monk, Thomas. When the Angel Daniel kills members of Gabriel’s army of angels, Gabriel instead employs the assistance of a teenage girl (Izzy) who has just committed suicide. Gabriel keeps her alive to assist him in his war against Daniel and the other angels which climaxes in a battle in Eden.

The Prophecy 3: The Ascent (2000)

The conclusion to The Prophecy Trilogy. Once again, Christopher Walken returns as the Arch-Angel Gabriel. The Prophecy: Uprising (2005)

In Bucharest, the tormented detective Dani Simionescu (Sean Pertwee) is investigating bizarre deaths with the heart removed from the victims. The Interpol agent John Riegert (John Light) is assigned to be his partner in the case. Meanwhile, the clerk of the church Alisson (Kari Wuhrer) finds the local priest dead and a mysterious bible, “The Prophet Lexicon”, where the last chapter about the apocalypse, called Revelations, is being somehow written. The voice of an angel, called Simon, advises her that she must protect the bible against a demon called Belial that wants to read this final chapter to have advantages in the war of angels.

The Prophecy: Forsaken (2005)
